This Time of Year For Rain

The rain has come out with a bang for the beginning of this year. Last year we had more than ten inches less rain than the average for the year so January is starting off to change things.

So far we have more than two-and-a-half inches for the month while the average is five. It is a bit off because we have had years here in Gig Harbor, Washington where we have had less in January and then a lot more in other years.

If you take away the high amount of rain in the last ten years the average is around four inches instead. We have more rain forecasted so we may pass up four inches before this week is over.
