A Wet January

I am sure most people here in Western Washington are glad to have January end especially if you don’t like rain.

It has rained here every day except for three days when we didn’t have any precipitation. I didn’t have a problem with the rain since I am used to it.

The positive sign though we did have the sun come out on some of the days. I am not sure how many but it did happen.

In fact, there was twice when I got back in the car the sun was shining after a good downpour; however, it did rain again before I got out of the car. I was only a mile into the drive when it was raining. I was only driving five minutes back home.

I have heard on several occasions the natural comes before the spiritual. So it may mean that God will pour blessings on us in Western Washington. I really do hope that happens.

I do believe we are blessed all the time but in this case a a blessing beyond what we have known.

Have a great weekend and enjoy this day.

Free Speech

So many people use free speech to say whatever they want because it is in our constitution in the USA.

We have the right but it is important not to abuse it. I think it is important to encourage one another while many use it to speak their agenda whatever it is.

Here I write about life purpose and other things. So in a way there is an agenda but everyone who reads here knows it but I don’t push it at the same time. I feel it is important that we each discover what our life purpose is for ourselves. We can do so many great things when do discover our life purpose.

So free speech use it for the betterment of our world not putting others down or pushing what our passion is. Amen!

Hello Wednesday

Interesting how Wednesday sneaks upon us. It shows how fast the week really goes by. I hope that things are going well for you. Life is going along real good.
Yesterday I spoke with a woman from an agency to bring someone in once a week to begin with then twice a week to look after my mother four hours each visit, This will give me a break to do other things. We all need a break from the regular routine.
I am not sure when it will begin but likely in a couple weeks. I figure to start with one day to see how things go for both mom and me.
It used to be pretty easy to look after mom but since her last fall it has gotten harder and I am sure won't be any easier as each day goes by.

Don't Be Stopped

The tragedy of the loss Sunday morning of Kobe Bryant, his daughter and the other seven on the flight with them showed how fragile life is and it can be taken away at any time.

It is so important for us to live our lives to the fullest. We have a purpose and a destiny to live out. Do not let anyone stop you from fulfilling it. Amen!

A Sadness In the World

Today we heard the death of the NBA legend Kobe Bryant. It is always sad when we hear about someone dying who so many are familiar with their name. The tragedy is not only the loss of his life but that of his daughter along with the other man and his daughter.

It shows we never know when our time is up. It is a tragedy because Kobe wasn't able to complete his purpose and the same for his daughter along with the other two.

His daughter is never going to have children and he will not be able to walk her down the aisle to be married. I think those are two the hardest parts when people die younger than they ought too.

I am sure we will hear about what caused the helicopter to crash.

This tragedy for the Bryant family but how often it happens to many families of those we don't know their names at all. We pray for both families they make it through in the long run.

It is hard to imagine the grief going on right now. How each person handles grief has to be about each individual. Today we pray for them all along with anyone else who lost their lives today wherever they are at. God is crying as much as we are. Amen!

A Blessing

It is nice when a member of the family comes for a visit.

Talk about the old times along with what is happening now.

It is good to get out of the routine as well and do something different.

It would be nice to have family around all the time for sure.

Life Is Difficult

Watching a basketball game like I did last night makes me think about how life can be so difficult especially when the referees are making calls in favor of the opposing team.
Life can be difficult on its own without anyone else helping out sometimes to make it harder on you. I guess it shows what our enemies want to do to us.
So it says we need to stay strong no matter what trouble comes against us. This is the hard part trying to live out our life purpose and at times questioning what we are doing.
This is where faith comes in. No matter what is coming against us we believe the faith we have will help us through. Amen!

My Brother In Town

My brother arrived Thursday to spend the weekend with my mother and I.

The weather isn’t good for the weekend expecting to rain the whole time. It is January after all.

So we can say January’s purpose is to rain. LOL

My brother figured coming would be a good Christmas present for mom. At her age, we can’t be sure how much longer she will be around. She will be one hundred years old this year.

He will be back again in July with his family along with my sister and her two kids as well for a 100th birthday party. Also, we have cousins planning on attending as well.

Mom is feeling better and with my brother here hoping to improve on it. Anyway, enjoy your weekend. May you be blessed.

Purpose Is

Our purpose is what God has defined for us. It isn’t just handed to us we have to agree with God. He has given us free will to live our life purpose in the way he indeed.

Remember more than anything else we live a better life when living in our purpose.

Our Life

We only have one life to live so important to live it to the fullest though it isn’t easy.

We must define what our life is. Actually God defines our life we just need to agree with it. Not an easy task for sure.

Look At

I figured that I would break up the name of the blog and the meaning we should have.

Look at means there is something we should look for.

In this case, we are looking at our life purpose. Something we should look forward to every day.

I know that I certainly look at my purpose every single day. We should be excited every day when we get up.

It doesn't mean life is going to be roses every day but it certainly better than the alternative. Amen!

Take A Break

I am sure I have mentioned before it is always good to take a break when life is being hard or even if it isn’t.

We can get burned out and it would be ashamed to stop our life purpose if we are.

Yes people may need our help at times; however, we shouldn’t help so much that we no longer can help.

Often people think we should be available at any time or better said all the time.

Our family comes first after time with God. In fact, the good thing would ask God for his strength.

Remember Moses his father-in-law gave him good advice to get help. He couldn’t give justice to everyone. Amen!

Inspire Us

Though we are created for a purpose unique to us we can look to others to inspire us.

These people who inspire can be our parents, a sibling, a relative, a classmate, a friend or someone in the public eye.

The persons that inspire us don’t even have to have the same gifts or talents we have just the way they live their lives.

Think of being a humble person. He inspires many without realizing it. This kind of person we should be. Amen!

Keeping Everything Uncomplicated

I figure the important thing here is to keep things uncomplicated. Your idea of life purpose can be totally different than mine which is fine.

My idea is God has a purpose for each one of us and it is unique to us as well. We may have a different idea of how that works out but that is how I think.

None of us are fully doing our life purpose but I hope to be close. There are circumstances and people who may get in our way for us to do so. It is ok if you haven’t done your purpose yet. You can begin today no matter what the past has been like.

This is my major encouragement today is a new day forget about yesterday and don’t look toward tomorrow let it be about today. Your purpose tomorrow might be different than today which is OK as well. Just be open to today. We have no idea what tomorrow will bring anyway. Actually, today is an open book as well so just see what happens today.

Having An Impact

The snow here this week made me think of having an impact. The weather can change things drastically in our lives so can other things.

Our purpose should impact others' lives. In fact, it should impact ours as well.

How it impacts depends on us and how seriously we take our purpose.

We may not know for years what our purpose will impact others. This is especially true for those who may have moved away then we see them again years later.

The important thing have an impact whether small or large. Amen!

Let It Snow

Here in Western Washington, we got snow on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

How much snow depended on where you live. Where I live we didn’t a lot of snow. What we got was so beautiful though.

North of Seattle heading to the Canadian border had a lot more snow. Some of the schools were closed for the snow.

Our lives are like snow circumstances that happen to some harsher than others.  It isn’t because God loves us more or less than someone else it just happens. Like snow, it can land in one place and not another.

It doesn’t sound fair what happens to some while not others. We have to have faith things will turn outright. Amen!

Trust Is Earned

There are those who think we should trust them.  It would be nice, however, there are those trying to scam us with nice and persuasive words.

Trust is something that is earned and that takes time to do so. It may even take years to do so.

Of course, I would like to trust everyone; however, I have been taken advantage of before so it takes longer to trust.

Even friends and family have to earn trust. I am sure everyone remembers the trouble as a youth with their classmates. It took time to trust them too.

So remember if you are a mentor or a teacher those you deal with may take time to trust you. If they trust you right away I am sure it has to do with those that know you have told them about you. They trust those people when given a good report.

Don’t be upset if someone is doesn’t trust you yet I am sure it is because they don’t know you yet.

Encouraging Vs Preaching

When someone is preaching they can be encouraging. I just don’t want to sound like I am preaching here at least most of the time. I just hope you feel that I am preaching most of the time.

For me encouraging is my message to all of you no matter the form it feels like. Encouraging can seem harsh at times especially when speaking the truth. The important thing is not to sound condemning.

So there is conviction versus condemning. They may sound similar but they are not the same. Conviction is speaking the truth in love while condemning has no love in it. A person could use the same words in either circumstance but you know it is the truth when you feel convicted and not condemning.

Until next time have yourself a wonderful day. I hope this was encouragement for you.

Our Days Are Short

I don’t consider myself old yet; though a hundred years ago or less many people didn’t live as long as I have.

Recently more of my classmates have been passing away. It makes me think how much we have to do with our purpose with little time to do it with.

Every day we need to make a difference in someone’s life. Let them know that someone does care. We won’t be here for very much longer.

Putting A Smile On

When it comes to our purpose putting a smile on is a good idea too.

We can be so effective if we are seen with a smile. Others will think
we are genuine.

It doesn’t mean we can’t be effective without a smile; however, our
day will be better too.

Having The Right Title

I am finding the hardest part of writing on this blog or for that matter any of my writing is having the right title.

I figure the title has to be a selling point though the content is the important part.

I wonder if I am making a bigger deal about it or not or maybe my titles are fine but I want them to be better.

We may think our lives should be like how I see my titles better than it is. The important thing is our content in our life as well.

We might be making a better statement than we realize when it comes to our life.  If you have children how they are doing can say a lot about how you are doing.

It doesn’t mean because one of your children isn’t doing well you have done a bad job as a parent. You have to see the whole package. The most important thing is to love them and be the example that they need.

Like I have said I can’t keep this too long so take what I have said as a food for thought and have yourself a very good day.

We Must Realize Going To Far

On Wednesday someone who doesn’t know me called me an idiot because I don’t want to read twenty to thirty posts a day about politics on Facebook.

I suggested cutting back to submitting posts on politics to twice a week. This is where the person thought I was an idiot. They feel the world is going down the wrong trail which they are right but it has been for quite a few years.

I am sure those who are posting every day cut back to once or twice a week there will be still enough to see every day.

I post here to encourage others to pursue their life purpose which politics could be part of it but at the same time, we must use wisdom for our purpose too. When you start calling other people idiots just because you would like to see fewer posts on politics you are going too far. It is time to evaluate what you are doing.

I know some people will not change their minds being wrapped up so tight in their purpose; however, if even one person realizes they need to back off then this is a good thing.

When it comes to our life purpose we need to be effective in it. I try not to insult others here at all but I shouldn’t be called an idiot because I don’t want to see fewer posts on politics. I am sure there enough friends and followers that agree with you but don’t push others away because of your passion.

This Time of Year For Rain

The rain has come out with a bang for the beginning of this year. Last year we had more than ten inches less rain than the average for the year so January is starting off to change things.

So far we have more than two-and-a-half inches for the month while the average is five. It is a bit off because we have had years here in Gig Harbor, Washington where we have had less in January and then a lot more in other years.

If you take away the high amount of rain in the last ten years the average is around four inches instead. We have more rain forecasted so we may pass up four inches before this week is over.

Getting To Know More

This week I am learning about being a copywriter. The first example of a mailer that was sent out I realized it was too long.

The important thing I have learned writing here along with sports is to get to the point without making each paragraph and post too long.

I know sometimes I write too long here and other times I may do it too short. The point is to make it where the readers will enjoy what you have written without deciding to stop reading.

I hope I am doing this better and better each time. I am hoping by the end of this year I will be better than now and how I was last year and before that. This too goes for our life purpose as well. We continue wanting to be better each day.

Until the next time peace be with you all. Amen!

Seating Together With My Enemies

In Psalm 23 verse five says God has set a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

Several years ago my pastor told me that my life is like Psalm 23. I have been meditating on it recently. This verse is quite interesting and confusing at the same time.

So I found someone on-line trying to explain it. The person says that there a couple different meanings for it both having opposite meanings.

The writer says Psalm 23 begins with us being sheep but at this point we have a higher relationship with God. We sit down with our enemies in a peaceful manner.

The next line in the verse mentions being anointed with oil; so next being mature we will defeat our enemies we just sat down where we tried to live in a peaceful manner; however, they were able to agree with us.

Isn’t this interesting; we seat with them but in the end we will have the victory. This is more a spiritual battle with the enemy named Satan.

Take the time to meditate on what I just said. You will be encouraged to a new level and life. Amen!

License To Be Grateful

On Saturday afternoon on the highway, the car in front of me their license plate said “grateful”. I thought it was really cool. They must know what their life purpose is.

The more grateful we are the happier we will be. At least I hope so anyway.

Grateful means we will not be as selfish as the next guy or what we are otherwise.

I will leave it here letting you encourage yourself with the license to be grateful.

Freedom of Speech

Here in the USA, we have the freedom of speech in our constitution.

It is a good thing for sure but doesn’t give us a license to say whatever we want though some people don’t think straight and do so anyway. It is the reason I think before saying anything or writing for that matter.

I am not perfect so it doesn’t mean that I don’t slip up once in a while. Why it is important to think first is that others can often get the wrong idea. Probably a reason divorce is so high in the USA.

Although we do have the right to say anything we want except to threaten the President of the USA among others.
I say this true on social media for sure. If you are looking for a job employers are looking at what potential employees are writing. Saying the wrong things you will probably not get a job or at least not the one you really want.

So choose to say the right thing. My advice for today.

Selling Yourself

There are other areas like sports that I write besides here. I enjoy this very much so besides sports.

I am probably more of an expert at sports than I am at life purpose because I have been interested in sports all my life.

There are other areas of writing that I am looking at besides life purpose and sports.  I am thinking of travel and being a copywriter as well.

The thing about being a travel and copywriter you have to sell a product or places to see. In a way, I am doing the same thing here.

To be the best at living your life of purpose just like travel and copywriting you have to sell yourself along the way to.

Those people you interact with on a daily basis who have become friends and you are a mentor to have been sold goods. The goods are you which is the best kind.

Like every part of our lives, we can always get better. It is like my writing every time I do it I get better at it. At least I hope so anyway.

So your purpose in life may not change but how good you are at it will over time.  So continue coming here and letting your friends know as well.

If you have any questions or have success along the way I would love to hear about it through the comments. It is a way that I can pass it on to the other readers as well. Keep up the good work and the life God has given you to work out. Amen!

Life Isn’t Always Fair

We all know that life isn’t always fair; however, we must do the best we can.

Our life purpose is part of the plan where we can help others who need help when things are going wrong.

It is always good to have a close friend that we can depend on. When things are going wrong they will be there.

It will be exciting to see how our lives evolve in 2020. How they change and how they stay the same.

Hello 2020

I find it depressing on New Year’s because I look at the last year has provided. We don’t always get our desires we are longing for. When we get up on January 2 has things really changed.

I spoke with a friend who says that she has had to deal with depression herself as well as one of her sons. She is retired from the school system where she says students often get stereotyped.

Although there are those who are depressed are diagnosed with being mentally ill. I don’t really think it is the case for everyone though I am sure some professionals think so. This is the reason I don’t tell most people that I get depressed.

The other world out there besides the natural one we live in daily is the supernatural. This is where depression can come in as well. We are in a spiritual battlefield where depression can set in. At some point, it could lead to mental illness but I don’t think it is always true. In fact, it would not surprise me that some professionals don’t believe in the supernatural.

So I don’t take medicine for depression. I deal with it the best I can and fight against the supernatural battlefield. I have been fortunate to win which you can say doesn’t go for everyone.

I believe my life purpose isn’t only to encourage others in any area of life to do so in the life of depression.

I will talk more about it during the year as well. If you are fighting depression meet up with a friend who can encourage and fight along beside you. Amen!

Happy New Year’s

I remember when I was in high school how far off the next century seemed to be. Now it is 2020; we are starting the 20th year of the 21st century.

I still figure the number one thing to do is take one day at a time. Jesus Christ said not to worry about tomorrow because it will take care of its own and that is very true.

When it comes to our life purpose doing it today is all we have. We should do it for our very best for tomorrow isn’t promised at all.

We should treat each other like today is the last day we will see one another because it could be. Those we love and care about we should say I love you every single day.

One of the assistant coaches of the Louisiana State University Tigers football team who will play for the National Championship a week from Monday his wife died in a plane crash on the way to the game that was played on Saturday. Before the accident she texts him, saying “I love you”.  He wasn’t able to write her back not reading the message until after the accident. What a sad story but at the same time he knows that she loved him. Nothing greater than that other than hearing from God how much he loves you; his love is greater than the assistant’s coach's wife for him.  He will be grieving for a while; however, someday they will have a reunion where he can respond back “I love you too”. I am sure she already knows.

Until next time let today be the best one ever. Amen!
