Boxing Day

Boxing Day was founded on December 26, 1663
so as you see it has been around for a long
time. It took place in Great Britain originally
and then the other countries  in the commonwealth
celebrated as well. They would be Canada,
Australia, and New Zealand that I  know of.
Though I  am  American  my mother  was born
and raised in Canada so for about 60 years
she had family and friends over each year
to celebrate Boxing Day.

It was a big deal for mom to  celebrate  Boxing
Day and her life as a Canadian before coming
to United States in her early 20s. Besides family,
she would invite friends over. She would make the
same dishes each year like spiced beef and
scalloped potatoes. Everyone  found it to be
honor to be invited and come over since she
put so much into it.

I am not sure how others celebrate Boxing Day
but if it is like my mother's they have a grand
time. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Merry Christmas Everyone

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
A day of hope to celebrate the birth
of our savior Jesus Christ.

A day we spend with family and
friends each year. May you think
of others who are less fortunate.

Pray that others will  come to
know this savior. Amen! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Christmas Eve Memories

Whether they are recent or
long ago we all have memories
from  Christmas  Eve pasts.

I remember from childhood
as a youngster where Christmas
Eve felt like a very long day
and especially  night. I had
long nights hard to get to sleep
waiting  for Santa Claus  to
deliver presents and having
to wait to open presents.

On Christmas  after unwrapping
and seeing what we received the
family would drive to  our cousins,
Aunt and  Uncle in Seattle  where
we would unwrap more presents
and having dinner.

Older in high school I  would  be
in church choir where we stay
up late and go to church singing
carols in the service until midnight.

When my sister got married  right
before I  graduated from high school
we would go to my brother-in-law
parents place for some time on
Christmas  day to play games and
have dinner. This included a few
years when my sister and brother-
in-law had two  sons.

My sister and brother-in-law ended
up moving to Quebec so one year
for Christmas. It was a good time
visiting them , however it was foggy
and took us us three days to leave
Seattle. In fact we had to fly out of
Boeing field since Seattle-Tacoma
International Airport was still fogged
in. We first flew to Dallas then to
Montreal.

Those are a few of many Christmas
Eve memories  I have had. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

A Busy Time

The holidays  can be fun however
busy at the same time.

Friday people  were out get things
for Christmas  as traffic was much
more busy than usual. The stop
lights were no favor.

A goal over the next few days
should be to gain one new friend
and meet up with an old friend.
Decide to see each other more
often.

Merry Christmas and happy
holidays  to all. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Here we are Friday with three days

you have remaining  shopping  to do.
Whatever gifts  to buy, cards to get
out or more groceries.

Today guests from out of town are
arriving or maybe you are going out
of town.  You have a place you head
for Christmas each year.

Whatever you are doing  Friday may
it be a joyous and loving day. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Love For the Holidays

There are several forms of love.
There is lust as well which some
people consider love as well.

This holiday season  we will  spend
the holiday with some of the people
we love the dearest.

The greatest love is called agape.
It is the love God has for us even if
we don't  return. God has given us
free will  to  love him or not.

Agape love is unconditional and
what we should give everyone even
if they don't  give it in return. It is
even loving our enemies. It means
we don't  like them very much.

I see one good example of agape
love was the story of the good
Samaritan.  He saw a man in
need and looked after him though
he didn't  know him. The man
was Jewish and the Jews didn't
think  well of Samaritans. You
could say they were enemies.

In this story none of this man's
Jewish brothers didn't  even stop
and take care of him. So we
should have love for others
we see whether we know them
or not.

Happy holidays  everyone.  ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Five Days Until Christmas

Here we are where we should have
holiday cheer.  Families  are  beginning
to gather together.  For some, they
will do their traditional things.

For some families, they may have
added a member in marriage or
a child.  Other families may have
lost a loved one or more and this
Christmas season isn't the same.

Most families will remember those
who haven't been with them for
a few or many years.

There will  be others who will be
sad because  they will be alone
with family far away. We hope
they find friends and loved ones
to be with.

Whatever situation you are in I
wish you a Merry Christmas over
these next five days. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Running the Race

In the New Testaments in the Bible
two scriptures speak about running
the race of life.

1Corinthians 9 verse 24 speaks about
running the race in the manner to win
the prize. I  could say there should be
no other way. I  suppose to run to stay
in shape is a good  idea  as well but
doing so should be to win and cross
the finish line.

Hebrews 12 verse 1 speaks  of running
the race with perseverance that lies
before us. I  see that as our purpose.

In Matthew 25  it is spoken of doing
well as a faithful servant. After  our
final breath well running the race
crossing  the finish line of life and
persevering  doing the purpose that
was ahead of us to hear the words
well done faithful servant. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Good Music

Early  Sunday evening  I went to a
Blues concert at the local university
chapel. It was a very enjoyable time
with new friends.

The only constructive criticism was
the music was louder than I  liked.
Being thirty percent  less volume
would have been nice  or listening
from outside.

I  didn't  mind the volume of the
instruments as much as it was
to hear the words of the songs.
Had the songs been familiar not
hearing the words been as much
the trouble though the singers
had good voices.

I  am  sure the acoustics of the
Chapel had something to do
with it. Not meant for voices
to be so loud. I  am sure every
venue has it own way and they
set the volume the same.

Despite  the constructive criticism
the evening was enjoyable and
nice to hear talented musicians.
The reason they are here for us.
❤️❤️❤️❤️

There Are Winners Out There

In sports there are those who have
good stats. There are those who are
looking winners.

There are players who have right
physical size some are looking for.
There are others who have the heart
of a champion. Who are you looking
for? ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Good Friends

In life, it's nice to have good friends.
Going back to  childhood we may
want to have a lot of good friends.

In reality, as adults, we know having
a lot of good friends or close friends
probably be a limited amount. Why
because  it  takes time to form good
friends.

It doesn't  mean  we can't  have a lot
of friends, they just won't  be as close
as our good friends.

I like where friends  on social  media
become good friends as well. They
may have been friends in school and
have become good friends now. They
go out for dinner or go over to each
other's homes.

I hope this encouraging to have a
good friends.  ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Be Surprised

Again I was surprised  in remembering
a dream in some measure.  All I do
recall is going on a surprised  trip.
Not sure exactly  where though.

Made me think how many small
towns along with some several
medium ones and a few large
ones in a day drive.

Going north there are a quite a
few small towns along with a
couple medium size if you
consider two hundred thousand
population  and three large cities.

Seattle is the closest  large city
being 45 minutes away  depending
on traffic  then there is Vancouver
British Columbia which is about
three more hours. Also their is
Victoria British  Columbia as well.
It is West of Vancouver and you
have to take a ferry.  Can take
a ferry from Seattle to get there.

Many small towns in between
you can see and visit too. Everett
is the one medium city after
Seattle. I live real close to
Tacoma. Of course you can
think all the cities  going south
as  well or east or west.
Travel for one day can
be exciting.

I believe every town or
city has a story  to themselves.
A purpose  the city and the
people  living in them. A place
to visit and see what they are
like. Out purpose  can be to
go there and see what we
discover and enjoy.

You can go all over the United
States  to discover every  story
and purpose. It isn't  just  in this
county every country, city and
town in the world  has a purpose
and story  to tell. I  wish I  had
the time to discover them. See
how many I can go too. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Excited To Share

On Wednesday  morning at the gym
I  was chatting  with  an older gentleman
and his daughter about classes. We
are in one class together  on Mondays.

Anyway  I  was able to talk to them
about our life purpose.  They were
very interested.  I  told them  the
basics and the Christian belief in
our purpose.

The daughter asked before leaving
if I can share sometime what I see
their life purpose  is. I  said sure I
can.

So if you know anyone  to share
your experience  in  your life purpose
I  recommend  you  share it. You can
let them  about this site too. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
